অঙ্কের মজা ( Mathematics Can Be Fun In Bengali ) by ইয়াকভ পেরেলম্যান (Yakov Perelman)

Yakov Perelman’s “Mathematics Can Be Fun” is a delightful exploration of mathematics presented through engaging puzzles, games, and intriguing problems. The book aims to show that mathematics is not just a series of abstract concepts but a field full of surprises and intellectual pleasure. With its mix of historical anecdotes, visual illustrations, and thought-provoking challenges, Perelman makes math accessible and enjoyable, inspiring readers to develop a deeper appreciation for the subject.

Happy New Year 2026 and 2025 in Review

First of all a very Happy New Year to readers and supporters of the Mir Titles Project. On this first day of the new year here is a summary of what we did last year. Also, we will spell out some plans for this year.

2025 in Review

Screenshot

Screenshot

  • We did make a new post every day, this is now the fourth year of a new post every day!

  • Got hold of about 300+ titles yet to be scanned.
  • Have about 500+ book scans to be processed.
  • Many Indic language scans added this year, particularly Tamil, Gujarati and Marathi.
  • Several books were translated.
  • December 2025 we have had a surge in visitors, mostly from China.

Of course this would not have been possible without support of all the well wishers and collaborators. A big thanks to Arvind Guptaji for making many books and scans available. Without his help and guidance this project would not have scaled. And I also received 5 boxes full of Soviet books from him!

Also, a big thank you to Evgeny Spirin, our Russian friend, for helping out with various things, including the translations. Apart from this, IA user QuantumAI also helped with several scans of books.

Things TO DO in 2026

  • Post at least one book a day.
  • 1000+ uploads in the year on archive so total is 5000+ at the end of 2026.
  • Translate/typeset more books, some are in pipeline already.
  • Scan/digitise/process books already with us (easily 800+).
  • Add better copies of poorer scans.

Ways you can help

Often people ask how they can help, here are some ways

  • Help spread the word: the more people benefit from the project the better. Do share info on various platforms.
  • Share information about books, authors. Particularly books that are not digitised or listed. ( I am working on a exhaustive database of Soviet era books, but that is a story for another post.)
  • Send us scans of books that are not digitised and you have access to (via a library or personal copy). Write to us if you need any help in scanning.
  • Help in site maintenance. Report broken links, etc.
  • If you can help in purchasing the books to digitise, that would be welcome too.

Well that is about it, hopefully we will achieve all the listed things this year.

Thanks to all the supporters, well wishers and followers of the project!
