Alyonushka And Her Little Brother Ivanushka – A Russian Folk Tale

A Russian Folk Tale

Alyonushka and Her Little Brother Ivanushka is a traditional Russian folk tale about a devoted sister and her mischievous younger brother. After being orphaned, the two children wander in search of shelter. Despite Alyonushka’s warnings, Ivanushka drinks from a hoofprint left by a goat and is transformed into a little goat himself. The tale follows Alyonushka’s struggles to protect her brother and herself from further misfortune, especially after she is kidnapped by a cruel sorcerer. In the end, with the help of kind-hearted people and divine justice, Alyonushka is rescued and Ivanushka is returned to his human form, reaffirming the values of familial love, patience, and goodness prevailing over evil.
