The author, Professor Mikhail Prokofyev, Ph. D. (Them.), Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences and Mem ber of the USSR Academy of Pedagogical Sciences is the USSR Minister of Education. Head of the Natural Compounds Faculty at Moscow University he has published over 120 papers on chemistry both in the Soviet Union and abroad.
Here, Mikhail Prokofyev describes how general education was organized in the USSR, the problems it faced, and what the Soviet Government has done for education in fifty years.
The book was translated from Russian and was published in 1969 by Novosti Press Agency.
