Mir Titles: How to Help?

How you can contribute?

Quite often visitors and patrons of mirtitles.org ask us how can the site be helped. This post (an extended version of the very first post that was made) will chalk outlines where the help is needed.

You can contribute to this project in many ways:

  1. Add the books which are not in the list, this may include but is not limited to: books by the same author, books in the same series, books with similar subjects.
  2. Add information whether e – copies of the books are available, please post alternative and better links. Please report dead links.
  3. Add the list of the books which were republished and are currently in print, and status of their availability, in bookshops etc.
  4. Locate hard copies of the books, in libraries or personal collections, which can be digitized in the future.
  5. Add meta-information about the book like different editions and reprints, language translations, translators, reviews, personal experiences.
  6. Wish List: We will create a post titled Wish-List please list the books that are not available and you would like to appear here.
  7. Donate physical copies of books that you can!

Any other way you think it is possible to help!

  1. As a spanish speaking person, I got several spanish translated MIr books that seems their equivalent english version aren’t published in mirtitles.org. Most likely all your readers are looking for english versions but in case you see some interest for those spanish titles I will be happy to share.

      Hi Claudio,

We would be more that happy to have the Spanish translations. Please post the links in comments on the respective books. If there are books of which we do not have English ones yet, please post as comment in this post. Looking forward for your contributions.

Seems I. V. Saveliev’s “Curso de Física General”, Slobodetski’s “Olimpiadas de Física”, Bath-Kelzon-Dzhanelidze’s “Mecánica Teórica en ejercicios y problemas”, Gladkova’s “Problemas y ejercicios de Física” are some of the books you don’t have. I’m checking if I have spanish translations of books (in their english version) already in mirtitles

  2. Mir fan says:

Yes spanish books are welcome, if it is ocr then it is great,
With ocr people can use google translate to read

  3. Stevin says:

Well if you’re going to do spanish books as well it’s probably best if you check out some sites on the internet to save you some time. There’s alot of books available in Spanish. Much has been already uploaded here: http://www.4shared.com/folder/rZdB5IiJ/Mir_moscu.html as well as http://www.4shared.com/folder/YISY5LTs/Editorial_MIR.html . I suggest you back these up somehow as 4shared links sometimes disappear after a while.

If you think you might upload books in Russian in the future let me know as I know several sites that have ALOT of MIR books in Russian.

  4. Madhavan says:

over the last year have been visiting the site to download many of the mir books you upload.
I was browsing through the online database of the Connemara library, chennai, and was surprised to find a huge stash of mir books.
I guess you are one of the primary person who is involved in scanning the books. If the scanning process does not involve destroying the binding of the book, i would suggest visiting the nearest public library, which has been in existence since before the collapse of the soviet union. Im sure mumbai will have a few of these.
You can borrow books and scan them.

  5. Tor says:

    Search key words “mir publishers”

  6. Stevin says:

The site given by “Tor” is very good. Actually if you search only the field of publishers and “mir ” with a space after it (otherwise it won’t work) you will find other books you won’t find otherwise. For spanish books search editorial mir. I found some books I don’t think I’ve found here. I’ll post the names later in the week.
