Mitr;
Thanks for sharing the pic fo setup. Really surprising to see the great books are coming from this poor setup. Requesting you to add donate button to the site asap. For the service, you are doing voluntarily, donating any amount is very less. Need your help for a long time to help the next generations around the globe. We are here to extend our support to continue your hard work in the future. The amount can be used to improve the hardware and improve the scanning environment or can be used to hire some helpers to buy and scan the books. Please add the donate button.
Thanks

Thanks for the kind words. Its okay if we don’t have monetary donations, and I would rather keep it that way. Of course any books that people would like to donate are always welcome, and a lot of people have donated books. Thanks to all of you for the support, hopefully next year we will have a continuous stream of posts.

There is this opensource scanner you may want to try:

Thanks for the link. I had tried to construct a scanner of my own using two identical cameras, sometime back but it got shelved. This setup shown in the photo though simple works quite well. For a 300 page book, it roughly takes 30 minutes to scan. That being said post-processing and posting takes roughly double the time. Though it would be a cool project to execute.
