This is a wide-ranging survey of the classical Moslem philosophy,
covering such of its schools as kalam, Eastern peripateticism and speculative Sufism. This is one of the world’s first attempts to examine these schools as an integral area of thought. Many aspects in the works of the Moslem philosophers are approached
from a new angle free of prevailing stereotypes.
