Theoretical Physics – Kompaneyets

We now come to Theoretical Physics by A. S. Kompaneyets.

This book is intended for readers who are acquainted with the course of general physics and analysis of nonspecializing institutions of higher education. It is meant chiefly for engineer-physicists, though it may also be useful to specialists working in fields associated with physics chemists, physical chemists, biophysicists, geophysicists, and astronomers.

On the whole, the book is mainly intended for the reader who is interested in the physics of elementary processes. These considerations have also dictated the choice of material; as in all nonencyclopaedic manuals, this choice is inevitably somewhat subjective.

The book was translated from the Russian by George Yankovsky and this edition was published by the Foreign Languages Publishing house in 1961. There is also A Course of Theoretical Physics in 2 Volumes: Volume 1 Fundamental Laws and Volume 2 Statistical Laws by the same author published by Mir in 1978.

We may see these 2 volumes in some time, till then get the book (2nd Edition) from the wonderful Internet Archive.

(PDF | DJVU | EPUB | Kindle | Full text |Magnet |  or Read Online!)

With so many options to get the book, no other links (filecloud, TPB, 4shared) are added. If you must, then add new links in the comments.

Good news —– I have found information about some of MIR Publishers’ books. See http://isbndb.com/d/publisher/mir.html

What is the non destructive method of scanning you are using and how ?
I bought a canon lide 110 scanner. My initial trial attempts are not great. There is text blurring near spine of book and in other edge of page again there are the thick edges of other pages showing up (if you know what i mean).
I dont want to break the book into individual pages. Looking for your own personal technique. Are you using camera technique ? (DIYscanner.org).
I have few books and trying to do.

I have scanned & upkoaded the following 2 books to my mediafire account. Anyone interested can directly download them from the links:

    1. The Space Age by Yuri Shkolenko
    Progress Publishers | 1987 | 231 pages | 8 mb

The author, Yu. A. Shkolenko, is a doctor of philosophy and a journalist. In his book he has com-bined reflections on the fundamental processes occurring in the space age with a lively description of the everyday, practical aspect of cosmonautics. He takes the reader into the cabin of a spaceship, into the living module of an orbital station, shows him the experiments performed by the cosmonauts, and then offers him a glimpse, through the porthole, of the earth and other nearby planets, and of worlds unimaginably remote. As a result, the reader who has never been in space and is unlikely ever to go there, has nonetheless the opportunity to acquire a cosmic view of the world and, rising above his ‘earth-bound’ daily life, can form a new concept of his place and role in the Universe and on earth and appreciate the need for lofty moral principles and humane forms of social existence.

    2. Pioneers of Space by Victor Mitroshenkov
    Progress Publishers | 1985 | 333 pages | 9.32 mb

“PIONEERS OF SPACE” IS A COLLECTION OF DOCUMENTARY ESSAYS WRITTEN BY. COSMONAUTS, SCIENTISTS AND JOURNALISTS ABOUT THE ORGANISATION OF THE SOVIET SPACE PROGRAMME. ? OFFERS INFORMATION ABOUT THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE COSMONAUT TRAINING CENTRE, THE DIFFICULTIES THAT SOVIET SCIENTISTS, ENGINEERS, PHYSICIANS AND RESEARCHERS FACED IN PREPARING FOR THE FIRST SPACE LAUNCH, AND DESCRIBES THE CHARACTER OF THE WORLD’S FIRST COSMONAUT-YURI GAGARIN. THE BOOK SHOWS THE PEACEFUL NATURE OF THE SOVIET SPACE PROGRAMME AND DISCUSSES EXCITING MYSTERIES OF THE UNIVERSE AND THE POSSIBILITY OF THE EXISTENCE.

    Hello damitr!
You’re doing an extremely good job on maintaining this website.
Can you upload the book Inorganic Chemistry by Khodakov? This seems to me an another Russian jewel but unfortunately i can’t find it anywhere on the net.

    Good news ——–
    (1) I have found the book “The lighter side of gravity” by the world-famous Indian astronomer, astrophysicist & cosmologist Jayant V. Narlikar (MIR Publishers 1985) on the website en.bookfi.org
But 2 problems — 1) the book is in Russian 2) only first 37 pages(out of 154) are visible.
What is your opinion on this?
I have found on a website that VIOLENT PHENOMENA IN THE UNIVERSE (in Russian: translation of 11A by G.V. Budnika) Mir Publications, Moscow, 1985 is also originally written by Jayant V. Narlikar
    (2) I have found the book “A collection of problems on complex analysis” by I.G. Aramanovich and others on en.bookfi.org in English as well as Spanish
Many links to many many unknown MIR titles are not working (error 404 : not found) on that website but we can get list of such MIR books through that, may be with the help of Google Translate + Internet Archive’s Wayback machine.

Is “General methods for solving physics problems by B. S. Belikov” available anywhere on the net or at a cheap rate?

    Thanks!

International Physics Olympiad is approaching. A lot of people who follow russian problem books will be benefitted if you post “General Course” books in physics. The course ed. by academian G S Landsberg is highly recommended by many people. Do you possess the volumes? Also do you have any plan of posting general course series ( there are a lot many which russian pupils follow for IPhO or Moscow City Physics Olympiad) in near future?
